I feel like I can always preface each entry by stating, What a crazy busy day! when in fact – life is always crazy and busy!
We started off our mid-morning enjoying a walk with friend. It wasn’t necessarily a sweat induced, heart pumping walk… but we got our steps in and enjoyed good conversation. We walked about 3 miles.
After picking Calvin up from preschool, we ran quick errands: recycling center, bank, gas, and more. I have finally learned that when I give my children an outline of what we are doing (and what is expected of them) things go MUCH smoother than planned!
Our afternoon adventure began the moment I pulled into my good friend’s drive to enjoy a day full of sunshine, fun, friends, and 40 acres of exploring!
I brought my camera, but I left it in the car. There was much fun to be had by all that I forgot to take time out to get the camera.
I enjoyed great conversation with my friend (even if there were children vying for our attention LOUDLY in the background).
There were 6 little ones: two 5 year old boys, two 3 year old boys, one 17 month old boy, and one 8 month old little girl. Lots of babies!
We enjoyed: car driving, trampoline jumping, mud puddle jumping, sword fighting, chicken petting, dog stick throwing, swinging, sliding, strawberry picking, cave exploring, and bear bone exploration. Fun day!
My fitness today was not what I had planned… but I did get my steps in and strength (packing a cranky/clingy T all.day.long). I relaxed and took a step back from fitness to enjoy family and friends. Heck, even enjoying fitness and family together!
Today I focused on 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, “But he said to me, ‘By grace is sufficient for you, my power is made perfect in weakness’… For when I am weak, then I am strong.” I know that God has given me power over my food choices. I am supposed to consume food. Food isn’t supposed to consume me!
My #dosomething challenge for May is complete (day 6). I walked this morning (3 miles) and the afternoon hike while packing T was doing something active also. 🙂
