Happy Monday. The holiday season and winter months tend to bring more stress than happiness than I would like to admit. My time is spent balancing the busy social demands of my children, husbands crazy work schedule, and random ipromptu house guests wanting a tour of our home.
Crazy. Chaotic. Stressful. Busy.
Finding, creating, and establishing a fitness routine is what helps keep the cranky, FUNK at bay. Like most people, I have fitness and weight-loss goals – many I have shared on here. I have the motivation to get started, I need to keep the momentum going to make it a habit to keep me going.
Since completing my 6 mile Turkey Trot last week (Thanksgiving – which I still need to get a race recap posted), I have decided to jump on the motivated training wagon and train for the local 10 mile John Frank NORCAL Race in March. After that race I plan on viewing and joining in a few more halfmarathons to keep the ball rolling – and the habit/motivation going.
Monday: Rest/XT (I ran a quick 2 miles and NTC upper body strength circuit)
Tuesday: Easy 8 Mile Run
Wednesday: Rest/XT (NTC strength circuit)
Thursday: 4 miles easy
Friday: Rest/XT (NTC strength circuit)
Saturday: 5 mile Tempo Run (1 mile warm; 3 miles @9:16; 1 mile cool)
Sunday: 4 miles easy
The real test of this training plan (created from the Runners World Smart Coach iPhone App) will be training during the winter elements (rain, wind, cold) and husband wonky work schedule (6 days a week 12+ hour days) with 3 wild crazy boys at home! Consider me crazy!
How do you stay motivated to continue on your fitness journey?
