I love everything fitness. It probably is no surprise when I say that I get excited to find and try new fitness gear and products. A few weeks ago I tried and loved Celliant socks and Lucy Activewear leggings. This week I want to share with you my new love of compression socks.
Yes, these hot pink knee length socks are my new coveted favorite fitness item. I have been watching the fitness blogs the past few months and entered every giveaway possible with the hopes to win one of my own.
I finally won!
Studies show that the key to increased blood flow and improved oxygen supply to the muscles is a specific, pressure resulting in compressive strength. There are many positive effects of wearing compression based products (socks). Before your sport it helps activate the muscles reducing the risk of injury. During the sport it helps increase blood flow, enhances performance, reduces muscle vibration and results in fewer muscle pains. After the sport it helps increase blood circulation and accelerate regeneration of the worked muscles.
My hot pink compression socks are my must haves for running long distances.
To be honest, I haven’t done any running (or even power walking) in 2012. But I can feel my chest gunk clearing up and am excited to hit the pavement again very soon!
However, I ran in these bad boys on my last 8 mile run in December. It was a VERY chilly day (30 degrees and windy) and I thought I would be fine wearing my running skirt and cep socks. I am proud to say that my muscles felt fantastic and I had no cramping during or after my long run.
My lesson was learned, however, that when running in that temperature I would be much better suited running in leggings (like my Lucy cut-for-me-leggings) versus my running skirt. BUT… my calves were warm and I know that my compression socks did their job!
Disclosure: I won the above pair of cep socks from a giveaway. I was not required to write a review. I wanted to share my new favorite fitness gear on my own accord. Opinions shared above are my own.

I am in LOVE with the compression sleeves I got recenlty. They really do work. I even ended up getting some compression tights that I found on clearance on Amazon that I wore last week for 10 miles. NO soreness afterwards. Crazy!
