The past two weeks, I have challenged myself to find my strong. The very definition of strong means to be marked or having great physical power. Finding my strong means to find my physical strength, dig deep, and go beyond the wall of my comfort zone.
Who knows, maybe strong is what you have left when you have used up all your weak. For me, finding my strong is finding me again. Challenging myself and accepting the fact that I am strong… I can do this… I can put forth the extra effort to accomplish that goal pace, distance, time. I can do this.
I was given a pair of Saucony’s new Virrata running shoes to try. I was excited and nervous about making the switch from my Brooks to Saucony. I am not brand loyal with my running shoes. I am, however, brand picky to make sure that my feet, legs and body do not ache after each run.
I have had so many foot and heel pain issues that are finally being resolved. Thankfully my plantar fasciitis pain is minimal and can easily be rolled out with a tennis ball. I was nervous about running in a minimal drop shoe to see how that would have an effect on my foot and heel pain. Surprisingly I have had NO pain!
I have been running in and LOVING my new Saucony Virrata running shoes the last 2 weeks. The Virrata is super light and the most flexible training shoe I have run in. It allows for your foot to move naturally. It is feather light, ultra flexible with advanced cushioning that promotes a powerful stride and allows for the foot to move the way it was meant to.
The Virrata is a shoe that lets your feet do the work because it has a 0mm offset, yet while providing plenty of protection from the road. The breathable mesh upper and COLOR POP is incredibly light weight and quick-drying to run in wet weather conditions.
I have received many compliments from strangers at the gym and on the road on my new Virrata’s. The color is bright and super fun. I was honestly very happy to report that I have had little to NO heel pain since making the switch from my Brooks to Saucony.
In all honesty, I did my first road run in these shoes for last weekend’s 14 mile run. The shoes were light and I had no issues. My feet and legs (hips and knees) were not sore after my run too! Double win! I have been running solely in these shoes ever since.
The Virrata’s have held up well with my cross training as well. I have worn them while doing R.I.P.P.E.D classes, Strength training, Biking, Walking, and even hanging out upside down during my handstand Friday attempts!
I am excited to race in these flashy, fun, LIGHT kicks come race day! I am hoping that their light weight feel and comfortable flex will enable (and help) me run a new PRE-CHILDREN personal best! I will find my strong with my new Saucony Virrata’s!
How do you find your strong? What are your favorite running shoes?
Disclosure: I received a free pair of Virrata shoes through being a FitFluential Ambassador. No compensation was received. All opinions are honest and are my own.

I’ve been a Mizuno girl for some time, but I am now a huge fan of the Virrata. My feet are loving the soft, cushy ride. Great review!

I don’t run. My 17 year old used to run track a few years ago and I remember how hard it was to find shoes he liked that weren’t heavy. We never encountered this brand.
