Good morning friends! I love sharing what I have on my training plan with you, because it helps keep me accountable and motivated. It also challenges me to follow the training plan I have set for myself.
Currently, my plan is to continue training on tired legs… and challenging myself to move faster, lift stronger, and keep moving forward when I think I can’t. It is my hope that this plan will help me overcome the physical and mental challenges that I will face come Ragnar next weekend.
Adventure awaits my friends… I love this! Everything I have heard, read and SEE about Ragnar is a complete adventure! I am so excited to embark upon this new adventure!
Here is my training from LAST WEEK:
Monday: 3.5 mile run
Tuesday: 2 mile walk
Wednesday: 3.5 mile run; strength; 3.5 mile run
Thursday: 1 mile walk; strength; 3.5 mile run
Friday: 5.75 treadmill run + handstand fun
Saturday: interval hill workout 4.5 miles
I am finding that I am feeling strong. I am hoping that it will be enough to endure the challenges I will face come Ragnar. I do not want to let my van mates and team mates down. I do not want to run injured. I want to be strong.
Here is what I have on tap for my training THIS WEEK:
Monday: Strength Session + Quick and easy 5K on treadmill
Tuesday: Tempo Run – 5 miles
Wednesday: Strength Session + Quick and Easy 5K on treadmill
Thursday: Hill workout AM and 5K PM run
Friday: AM 5K run + handstand fun
Saturday: 10 easy miles
After this week, will begin my taper before the weekend running race. I will continue pushing myself… but I am going to give my legs a bit of a rest. I am so excited to share my running adventure with you!
Quick Side Note: I have NOT lost any weight from my training. Heck, I haven’t lost any weight since the beginning of February (when I was competing in the Shrinking Jeans Weight Loss Challenge with WorkoutMommy). However, I am finding my clothes to be loser. I am lifting heavier. I am running faster.
I am choosing to celebrate the Non-Scale Victories in my life. Yes, the number on the scale will always be an issue. But I am choosing (today) to focus on the results of my hard work… no matter what that number says.
