Happy Friday! I cannot believe it is already May 2nd! Where has the time gone! Today I wanted to shake things up a bit and share with you a few of my favorite things. These things are from my life, around the web, and things that I have been pondering lately. Kind of a hodge podge of favorite things.
Flowers
I will never grow tired of when my children bring me flowers they hand picked. It always makes my heart melt and I cherish these moments because I know they are fleeting.
Juicing
I broke out (dusted off) my juicer this week and enjoyed some fresh juice. My favorite recipe is a simple carrot-apple-greens juice. It is yummy and full of amazing nutrients!

Finding my Feminine Side
I have shared that I am not the most girly-girl in the group. I am trying to embrace and find my feminine side. I always feel the most girly when I have painted nails. The past few weeks I have been experimenting with polish and even gel polish. I love the look of painted nails… but the chips, bubbles and indentions on the polish drive me bonkers. Pet Peeve. Perhaps au natural color is best for me.
This weekend I will be running my first official fun race with girlfriends. We will be running the Pretty Muddy 5K Mud Run. We have great intentions of running it for the sole purpose of fun, giggles and memories. I will be sure to try to take lots of photos to share in a recap post for you next week!

Love that color!!!
Good luck with the race 🙂 🙂

Thanks. The color is ocean bubbles… and was pretty while it lasted (only a day before it started to chip/bubble).

You are going to love a mud race…bring flip flops, and a towel, you want extra clothes to change into and easy shoes to wear. Plastic bag for your muddy stuff {yep I have done a few of these}LOL . I hate having nail polish on my fingers, they are to stubby looking and I have no nails, plain and natural here also 🙂 My kids are olde now and I still get warm in my heart when they randomly pick me a flower
Rachel says
Thank you for your tips, I will use them! My bag is packed and I am ready to get muddy! LOL
Yay … I love that your kids still pick you flowers! That gives me hope for the future. 🙂

awww – little boys who bring their mama flowers are the best! I pick up my weekly bouquet every Monday morning and it makes my whole week better.
Rachel says
Yay, I agree. So you get a weekly bouquet of flowers to start off your week? That is an awesome idea! 🙂
What is your favorite flower arrangement? Or does it vary by season?
allison says
Well, let me amend that a little – weekly or bi-weekly (hooray for blooms that last more than a week) from about April through October – when I can find tulips or the occasional bunch of roses for $5 in the grocery store.
