We have hit one of the busiest seasons of our summer the past few days. Between vacation, camping, swim lessons, VBS, play dates and more… our schedule has been super busy. Starting the day off on the right foot helps everyone to stay balanced.
When we take the extra few minutes out of the chaos to make sure we feed our body, soul, and mind… the rest of the day seemingly falls in to place. Yes there are hiccups… it is life after all.
My children wake early. Like before the sun early. Knowing this and knowing that in order for me to get a healthy kick start to my day, I must wake earlier then them. Yawn.
These three simple (yet often challenging) healthy habits help get my day started off on the right foot… to help me be ready for the chaos and busy-ness of the day.
I know I have mentioned it before, but starting the day in God’s Word is always a great way to slow down, reflect, and refocus. There is something about spending just a few quiet moments reading His Words, pondering on what He is trying to say, all while enjoying a nice hot cup of coffee.
I will be honest, this healthy habit is usually the first to be pushed aside… yet, in my honest opinion, it is the most important. When I start my day plugged in to Him… everything else falls into place.
After my coffee and devotional time, I hit the garage. Yes, garage. I am loving the Les Mills Body Pump fitness program lately. I am on the first phase (month) of the program and the workouts are only around 30 minutes. I do this strength training session three times a week.
Making sure I feed my body by moving it, fitness is a healthy choice my body craves. I know I that when I workout first thing in the morning… I am not worrying about when I can fit in a workout later on in the day. Life always seems to get busier as the day goes on.
Making sure I properly fuel my body is a key element in starting your day off on the right foot. This healthy habit is often overlooked because once the kiddos wake, chaos ensues. I often forget to eat my healthy breakfast. When I make sure to eat breakfast: whether it is a bowl of cereal, eggs and fruit or a healthy strawberry almond milk smoothie, my tummy is full and Mommy is happy.
I love Silk Almond milk and am a huge fan of their new blends. Silk Almond Milk Protein + Fiber is not only tasty, but it also helps give me the extra protein and fiber to my meal. Winning.
Now that my soul, body, and tummy have been fed… I am ready to tackle the day. Bring on swim lessons, errand running, chores, and VBS with the monkeys! Mommy is ready for her day!
What are some healthy habits you incorporate into your morning or daily routine?
Have you tried Silk Almond Milk blends yet?
