Happy Friday Ya’ll! We are adjusting to our daily routine after returning from our camping trip at Yosemite. Balancing family fun, homeschooling lessons, fitting in fitness and more… it is always a juggle. Slowly but surely we are getting things done.
This week Daddy is home, Yay! This good thing is said with pause because he is working from home. Working from home while homeschooling three monkeys… is an interesting juggling adventure for sure! It is hard not to play with him (or share parenting responsibilities) when Daddy is home.
We woke Thursday morning to a pleasant surprise of rain! It has been months since it has rained here in northern California. It was a welcome sight. The boys and I put on our rain boots and stomped in as many puddles as we could find.
I decided to make playing in the rain, puddle jumping and trampoline jumping our PE for the day. I broke out my gymboss and we did a fun quick 30 second/30 second fitness session. They had a blast. I enjoyed myself too. Oh the simple pleasures of moving your body and exercising.
Shortly thereafter they decided to put on their superhero costumes to fight imaginary bad guys. They looked so cute with their bright costumes running up and down the street on the gloomy (grey) morning.
I would like to think that their superhero work was our social studies lesson for the day. They were learning the value of community and to serve and protect. It could work, right?
When Daddy finished work, he loaded the boys up and headed to the gym. I took the opportunity to head out to run some quiet, solo, slow miles. It was bliss.
I loved breathing in the fresh air and enjoying the silence. It always amazes me how therapeutic a solo run can be for this mamas soul. I love my polar products… and am excited to share that they have come out with a new product. It is awesome. I want it. It is the Polar M400 (check it out!)
Life is always a juggle. Learning the best way to fit everything in. Sometimes we drop things. Many times we learn what we value as a priority and need to focus on. I find that when I keep my priorities in line… things tend to fall in place. Sometimes.

I am sick this week. It started late Tuesday and got progressively worse. Zicam is not working. ;-( Looks like you guys had fun last week. Wish I could say the same. I am wishing for a better week next week.

This is awesome that you had so much fun with the kids and them on your run. I think it is great you are doing PE. Thanks for sharing.
Toni says
Your PE looks like a lot of fun. I am having great difficulty balancing it all lately.

Some days I juggle better than others. I just set a goal for what I want to get done by the end of the week and usually if I add it to the list it gets completed.

I’m so glad you fit PE into your home school schedule. I bet there are many moms out there that don’t. Way to set the example (and save your sanity ;)l

It really is a struggle to juggle everything sometimes, but I just make sure my kids’ needs are put first. Speech therapy and occupational therapy for my son are first and foremost, as are my daughter’s after school activities. My needs come last, and as a mom, I’m perfectly ok with that!

I’ve had the opportunity the last couple of months to enjoy a lot of me time as we dropped our daughter off at college in August and are now empty nesters. I really need to actually pick up the slack a little bit around the home, I’ve been enjoying the ‘me time’ a little too much, LOL!
