This past week has been yet another wild and wonderful few days. Full of adventure, life, busyness, and more… the days have run together and before I knew it today was Friday. I am still trying to juggle and find balance with all of life’s responsibilities, training and fitting in our lessons (and FUN!) during our day. Some days are awesome. Some days are not so fun. But we get it done.
Here are five of my highlights from this past week… because it is more fun to read the highlight reel than the blooper reel, right?!
The past two weeks, I have been doing a Women of Faith study guide series called Living a Life of Balance. Oh how perfectly sweet this topic is in applying it to my life. We constantly hear from the experts about balanced lifestyles – that we need proper rest, nutrition and exercise. It’s true enough that we need such things to maintain physical and mental health, but we also need spiritual balance. How do we manage all of that and the challenges of daily life? I am learning how in this devotional.
Fitting in running and strength training with the monkeys is always an added challenge. I am hoping to convince the monkeys to ride their bikes while I run on the paved trails this mid-morning when we finish some of our lessons. Although the biggest struggle is convincing myself to get up and go run too.
When I am not running (them biking), we spend a lot of time at our neighborhood parks. They boys love practicing their American Ninja Warrior skills. Running. Jumping. Climbing. Creating obstacle courses and more.
With the pending move, I have also been spending a lot of our time at car mechanic shops. My van is working great… but I want to make sure it will continue to work great as we move 1,300 miles from here. We enjoyed watching many trains drive past as we waited for the all clear of the van being checked out.
I am a quote junkie and absolutely love this quote! I am guilty of falling victim of this far too often. I need to remember that people often post their highlight reel online and rarely the whole truth. I must remember to NOT compare myself to strangers on the internet. So please, don’t compare yourself to ME… as you are only seeing half of my real life.
These monkeys of mine are so full of life and adventure. As I type this, they are outside in full TMNT (teenage mutant ninja turtle) gear fighting imaginary bad guys in the back yard. I love their spunk, imaginations, love of life and their ability to create fun wherever they go. I also love that they are best friends… that makes this mama’s heart very happy.
Life lately has been a whirl wind adventure. My mind is in three different places all at once. I am trying to find balance and be present and in the moment. These three boys keep me on my toes, make me laugh, and remind me to enjoy life.

I saw that quote too this week and LOVE it. It’s so true though-especially when what people design to share on the internet isn’t everything!

I’m a quote junkie too! I have literally repeated that quote/mantra to myself before. It’s hard not to see other “what seems like perfect everything” and compare yourself too it. But I have to remember the smoke and mirrors effect of social media! But a good reminder, nonetheless. Love the TMNT fits, I love that it never left – one of my all time fave shows/movies/action figures! Have a great weekend! xoxo, ganeeban

If we lived near each other, we’d be best friends… I just know it.
Love those WOF studies.
I had to pin that poster about comparison… I am going to repeat this hourly 🙂

I have a few of those Women of Faith Bible Study books. They are great, aren’t they? And, yes, I love quotes too. I collect them more than necessary. Have a great weekend, Rachel!

I must have missed the post about your move! I used to live in Sacramento and still have some family there, so I always liked your posts showing local areas. Good luck in your next adventure.

I love reading the quotes on-line. Sometimes we need to hear them or read them. Your boys are so cute. Good luck on your move. Thanks for sharing.

My son was looking over my shoulder and I was reading. He is absolutely beside himself with jealousy that your boys got to see so many trains so close up. I now know what I will be looking for this weekend.

That is a great quote, it applies to people around you in real life as well!

Your little Ninjar Turtles are adorable! I’m dressing my son up as this for Halloween. BTW – I love quotes too!

That quote was so amazing.
Lots of times I see people and think I was I had… I wish I could… I wish I looked…
Must stop comparing myself to people on the Internet.

I’m a quote junkie too! Words inspire me! It’s so easy to fall into the internet comparison trap. I’m getting better about not doing it but it still happens sometimes.
