Our weekend’s the past few weeks have been filled with soccer games. This past weekend was the final soccer game for both big boys (earlier in the week was the T’s last game). Spring in Missouri means you never know what type of weather you will get.
P had his game at 9AM. It was a cool and windy morning game. The boys learned a lot and improved SO much over the course of the season. Way to go Green Ghosts!
While P played his game, the younger brothers (look at all those little cuties) entertained themselves by playing and splashing in the puddles near the field. Oh they were such a wet and muddy mess!
Right after P’s game, we hopped in the car and headed to C’s game. The Outlaws were playing the first place team and played an ah-mazing game. They tied the game in the pouring down rain. Everyone was soaked… and these goofballs have grown to be amazing soccer players.
The amazing thing about Missouri spring weather is how quickly things change. It was a cold and windy early afternoon at the soccer game… but later that day it was blue skies and super warm (and muggy).
I loaded up the boys and headed to the lake’s beach for some fun in the sun and water fun. Daddy enjoyed a solo bike ride on the trail.
Yes, my boys are wearing life jackets… and swimming in the lake. Surprisingly the water was warm (mid 60s) and to them… it was much warmer than the ocean! They had no problem getting in and playing. I foresee us spending lots of time at the lake beach this summer.
Sunday we visited another local church. We are still trying to find a good fit and church home for our family. It is hard when you have visited and been a member of some amazing churches over the years. Nothing like trying to combine the best and favorite things in to one church.
After church we went out to lunch to finally celebrate my birthday. Yum. I ate too much… but it was soo good. Red Robin! Yum.
The boys were getting restless when we arrived home. They wanted to go to the field to play baseball, football and basketball. So Daddy played with them while I snuck out for a quick trail run. By myself.
I sported my Mizuno Wave Kazan trail shoes and Ultimate Direction hydration pack to explore the trails.
It was a warm (80), muggy (humid), muddy (stormed last night), buggy 3 mile trail run. This Midwest humidity is really humbling me with my running speed and ability. I am still running for fun… but I will admit that it is frustratingly slow at times.
I had to alter my route a few times when it was too deep to splash through the puddles on the trail. We got pounded last night with a monster rain/thunder storm. I think we get more rain in one rain storm than we got all winter when we lived in California. It is crazy!
I hope you and your family had a great weekend!

Ha. Hugs mama! I totally understand. In fact, I think P is allergic to Missouri! All the trees, green, and new things!!
