Health is something many of us take for granted. There are many things that we can do to optimize our chances of staying healthy and reducing the spread of illness-causing germs. Making these five small healthy habit changes to your day can help you and your love ones stay healthy.
Water – Drink your water! Drinking water every day is probably one of the most important things we can do for our health.
Fruit and Veggies – Eating a healthy and well balanced diet is great for keeping your immune system healthy and working strong. I enjoy trying out our local CSA, shopping farmers markets, and taking my Juice Plus+ Gummies.
Exercise – Move your body. Make your heart pump. Work your lungs. Sweat! Exercise is great for overall health!
Rest – This is something that I struggle with, but it is probably the NUMBER ONE tip on how to stay healthy. We need down time. It is very important to incorporate rest into our busy lives: unplug from social media, get outdoors, get your sleep.
Cleanliness is next to godliness. Just kidding, but it is very important! Washing your hands and sanitizing what you touch can help prevent the spread of illness-causing germs. When soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, like PURELL® Advanced Hand Sanitizer, that contains as least 60% alcohol.
Our family uses PURELL Advanced Hand Sanitizer on the go while running errands, when the boys arrive home from school, and even at home! We have committed to using PURELL three times per day for 30 days. The boys have hand sanitizer attached to their backpacks, they use it when they arrive home off the bus, and we use it after sports practices. So far we are germ-free! Yay!
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other leading health organizations, proper hand hygiene is one of the most important preventive measures you can take to reduce your risk of illness and infection. Think about it, whatever you or your children touch usually ends up in their mouth, nose, eyes or ears. That is a lot of ways those germs can spread!
