Life lately has been a whirl wind of crazy busy. Just when I thought I had my next few months planned out… BAM… lane change and a different plan takes place. Amazing how quickly life can change. In an instant.
Car Shopping
Two weeks ago I was in a car accident. I was rear ended by a young man who was on his cell phone talking to his girlfriend. His actions caused a chain reaction of two vehicles (mine included) and lives becoming forever changed. All three of our vehicles were totaled. Thankfully there were no casualties, just shaken up and sore people.
My plan of saving money for a larger down payment for our future house is put on hold… while I shop for a replacement vehicle. With a deadline of a WEEK. Start a new loan payment. You know, because I am made of money and have all the time in the world. Sigh.
Birthday Boy
A few days (3 to be exact) after the accident, my middle son turned 8 years old. He is passionate and full of life. I am excited to see all the great things God has planned for him.
Teaching
I have been spending a lot of time subbing in my desired school district. I love the time spent in the classroom teaching. I look forward to returning to the classroom full time in the fall *fingers crossed*.
Getting Teaching Certificate Recertified
Because it has been almost 11 years since I last taught, my teaching certificate is expired. I am currently taking a college class within my elementary education degree/major to get recertified. I like my class and am learning a lot – applying it to my classes I sub, my children I parent, and keeping it for the backburner for future classrooms.
I spend my nights reading my required reading, writing the chapter analysis papers, and then writing the assigned paper each week. I love it and it interests me. The struggle is sitting down at the computer to free write here… when all my words are used up.
Spring Style with prAna
As an ambassador with FitApproach, I was given the opportunity to work with prAna again. I love their line of clothing and their mission to inspire healthy, active, and free spirited living. Their new spring line is perfect for your sweaty and non-sweaty activities.
I received a super cute pair of the Ryley Crop. I love the pattern and the feel of the fabric.
I wore my crops in an non-sweaty activity… although they would be perfect for yoga! They were super comfortable and I was able to dress them up to fit my teaching wardrobe.

Sports Season
The boys basketball season ended last weekend… and soccer started last week. From one sport to the next. That is the story of our lives for the next 10+ years. I am helping co-coach my oldest son’s soccer team again this season. We have a large team of 23 players, so we will be splitting them up into two teams. Coaching this group at practice is going to be an interesting challenge. 4th graders – 7th graders on the same team.
Life lately has been crazy busy. My brain is one big ball of mush lately. I find that I post random photos to snapchat because it is quick and easy (and fun!). This next week I will be frantically trying to find the time to find and purchase a new-to-us car while solo parenting and working. Ah the joys of of multitasking.

Question:
What 3 row vehicle do you recommend? We had a van… but I am open to other vehicles.
Audrey Dawkins says
oh no sorry about your accident. Make sure the at fault party pays to replace your car seats as well
Cassi says
Every car accident I’ve been in has been the other driver’s fault, two of them totaled my vehicles, so I completely understand your frustration there.
Rachel says
Thank you. This is my first accident ever… and I was not at fault, but I feel like I am being punished for it somehow (still). Sigh. I am thankful no one got hurt.
