Many times while on my fitness journey, I am asked WHERE I go to do my fitness workouts. Honestly, I do my workouts at home. I do not belong to a gym. I am not a huge fan of working out in my living room in front of the TV (although I do it when necessary).
I am sharing with you a glimpse of my life – my personal gym: a corner of my garage!
I have a vision board where I have my strength challenges posted (100 push=ups, 200 squats, 200 sit-ups, 300 lunges) as well as motivational words that help inspire me.
In the corner, I have yoga mats, weights, stability balls and bars (doorway trainer and push-up bars). I have a double jogger which I use almost daily. We own bikes (lots of them) and a bike trailer to pull the small ones who are too little to ride next to us.
Did you notice something missing? Yes, I am a runner. Did you see a treadmill!? No!?
Yes, I do not own a treadmill. I do all of my running on the road or trails near my house. OUTSIDE. Rain, Sleet, Hail, Wind, SUN, HEAT, and with or without children. Below are my favorite running accessories.
There are many excuses I could use each day regarding my fitness routine. I choose to rise above the excuses and continue to be active, fit, and healthy.
Without a gym membership or typical fitness machines. Instead, I use my own body weight for strength training and my two feet for cardio.
What resources do you have to create your own personal gym? If you are a member of a gym, what is your favorite piece of equipment to use?

I DREAD having to use my treadmill. I’m outside as long as there’s no ice on the ground.
Have a great day!

This looks very familiar to my personal gym:) I love to see what other moms do for workouts at home! It is a great reminder to me that you don’t need a gym to be healthy and to stay in shape!

I love that you are a runner without a treadmill. Honestly, this is what has kept me from becoming a runner. I mean, it’s the *excuse* I use for not becoming a runner.
My favorite piece of exercise equipment is my yoga mat. I find peace there. 🙂
