After a long sleepless night with the youngest, I prayed. Prayed HARD! Not only for patience, wisdom, and guidance to help me through this day but also on giving me the discipline to tackle my to do list(s), and be productive.
My husband’s work schedule this week is wonky, and he was home again this morning allowing me to enjoy a quick SOLO run. Yesterday I shared that I needed and regretted not running because I was pretty cranky. Today, I made sure not matter HOW TIRED I was (and man was I tired) I got out there and ran.
My mood, my sanity, and my children depended on me getting my run on!
I am happy to say that I got my crankies out through all the sweat that poured through me. It was a warm morning run, SANS KIDDOS!
It was windy, warm, and full of snot (thanks Tristen)… but well worth the effort!
After picking up Calvin from school, I nursed Tristen to sleep and we rested while watching to movie UP. Fifteen minutes into the movie, Peyton comes up to me and says, “Mommy, I go in my room with my night night [lovey] and lie down on my bed. You not close the curtains, okay?” I check on him a few moments later… he is sleeping.
Woot! I have two children sleeping! Success!
For some quality time, Calvin and I tackle another item off my To Do List: I cut coupons and he cuts items from the magazines that he wants to give me for my birthday/Mother’s Day.
If only 5 year old boys could magically purchase whatever items they desire for their devoting Mother’s. I would have a sweet treadmill, two new running shoes, sparkling jewelry, beautiful flowers, and yummy chocolate. It is the thought that counts, right?
When our cutting project was finished, Calvin resumed his super hero work by fighting imaginary super villains.
I decided to tackle my increasing books collection and devotions to read.
I am currently reading, Run to Overcome by Meb Keflezighi and am almost finished. Each night when I am finished reading, I am inspired and feel that I can run faster, longer, and harder than before! Such an inspiration… definitely a must read!!
The moment I got out my Bible study to begin today’s lesson… both boys woke. That would have to be set aside for this evening when the house was quiet.
After nap, the boys and I enjoyed a snack and went outside to ride bikes, play baseball, and stomp bugs.
This evening we tackled Calvin’s t-ball game. That adventure in itself is worth a tackle post alone!
Once home, I tackled the whole solo parenting gig (husband working late).
Now I am tackling THIS POST and enjoying the quiet house. Next up, reading my Made to Crave book and devotional.
What did you tackle today?
