I am excited to say that I love a good challenge and love fitness. I would LOVE to mix my love of fitness, FAMILY and roll it into one big old happy vacation! Tonight I am joining Janice over at Fitness Cheerleader on her healthy living blogging challenge. Today she asks me to share what my dream fitness vacation would be.
1. Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco this October. I have been wanting to run the Nike Women’s Marathon (er, HALF) in San Francisco for a long time. The lottery is so stinkin’ hard to get picked… but I will run this race very soon!!
2. Ragnar Southern California! How fun would it be to run with 11 other crazy running friends, in a stinky van, from Huntington Beach to San Diego!? For me, I have never been to either of those locations… so to be able to run and enjoy the amazing scenery would be a fantastic opportunity!
3. Ragnar Northern California!! Yes, I know another Ragnar. Why could this crazy mother runner want to be stuck in a van full of other women when she could choose any dream fitness vacation? This Ragnar ends in wine country. There would be no kids. Just girlfriends who ran and accomplished the same feat as myself. This event would be super fun to run with friends also!
4. Strip at Night! A few girlfriends and I have already been discussing a girl weekend (or week) where we run the Strip at Night Rock N Roll marathon in Las Vegas. Super fun. Great experience. And again… total girlfriend time!
5. Rock N Roll Marathon!! I am not picky when it comes to this type of fitness vacation. I think I would want my first full marathon to be something big like this race. I have heard great things about this race, and I do know that I want to run it someday!
Yes, most of my dream fitness vacations revolve around running adventures. But I see running as time alone with my thoughts, or even with girlfriends. I would love to run any of the above races one day!

#1 – do you want to do Ragnar SoCal with me next year?
#2- RNR marathons ARE great for a first full. I did San Diego RNR for my first full. It is a very well run race and so much love from spectators. I cried a little at the finish line.
I also think about how great it would be to travel to new places to do a race. Unfortunately, my husband doesn’t always completely agree that it’s a good use of vacation time. lol
